My grandma passed away in the night. She's up in Heaven with God now...probably feeding the birds there, tending His garden, and beating everyone in Scrabble.
I'm going up to New York with my mom this weekend...to help with all the little details that have to be taken care of.
Prayers for my entire family would be very much appreciated.

You know your boyfriend's awesome when...
...you're trying to finagle as much alone time you can get with him in the basement and he tells you he'll enjoy your time together wherever you are.
"The Love of God"
My grandma is dying. She has ALS.
She is the strongest, most dedicated and inspirational person I know. Her love and devotion to God is amazing. Every day, she has a nurse print out Bible verses from her computer, put them on a clipboard, and prop the clipboard up in her lap. She then spends most of the day memorizing as many verses as she can.
I don't want her to go...I love her so much. But I know that she's in pain and that she wants to go home...she wants to be with God.
My mom found this poem that she wrote when she went up and visited her this weekend...I love it.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement... In ALS, nerve cells (neurons) waste away or die, and can no longer send messages to muscles. This eventually leads to muscle weakening, twitching, and an inability to move the arms, legs, and body. The condition slowly gets worse. When the muscles in the chest area stop working, it becomes hard or impossible to breathe on one's own... There is no known cure for ALS... Death often occurs within 3 - 5 years of diagnosis. (A.D.A.M. Medical Encyclopedia)She was diagnosed about 5 years ago. At this point, she has lost the ability to breathe on her own, and she has almost no movement of any part of her body.

The Love of God
Lord, I have felt thy love,
But when my body was well and strong
I always had to hurry along.
There were so many things to do
I had little time to think of you.
Lord, I have felt thy love,
As the bright, cold snow came from above
And covered ground, and tree, and shrub.
With the steps to sweep and paths to clear
Not much thought of thee this time of year.
Lord, I have felt thy love,
Lord, I have felt thy love,
As I watched the miracle of spring,
Seeing the return of each new green thing.
Now with the grass to cut and more tasks for me
There's still little time to think of thee.
Lord, I have felt thy love,
In the sunshine of days of summer,
Busy with home and helping Mother,
Planning picnics and entertaining,
Still little time for just plain praying.
Lord, I have felt thy love,
As I go back to school in the fall
Trhilled with the excitement of it all.
With papers to correct and plans always due;
With meals to get and housework too,
There's time for a brief thank you to you.
Lord, I have felt thy love,
When my body was racked with pain,
I had time to pray, again and again.
The joy of it all You hear me still
And now I will try to know thy will;
And each day as I go my way
Lord, I feel thy love.

Ugh.
You know how on facebook, there's ads on the right side of the screen that come up? And usually they're like based off your interests or info they can find on your profile.

Well today I logged on, and on the right the first ad was for...
TakeControlPhilly (Condoms)
Then for the Alive Festival (which is a Christian festival),
Then for a shirt that says Jesus, take my heart.

How messed up is that?

It is time!

That's me from last year! :)
Yupp! Indoor Percussion season has officially started! Well, it 'officially' started last Tuesday, but tonight we were assigned our drums! I'm Bass 2, which I'm EXTREMELY excited about! Bass 1 and 2 are the most challenging drums in terms of notes and music and splitting, so that'll be awesome. And I love the girl who's playing Bass 1 (Joelle) so we'll rock it out together. :)
Run-down of the Bassline:
- Joelle (sophomore, marched trumpet in marching band for two years)
- Me!
- Pat (my alto sax in training...a freshmen who did marching band)
- Ryan (tenor sax freshmen who did marching band)
- Quinton (mello freshmen who did marching band)
Sidenote: The title of my post is a quote from a movie...wonder who can guess it. :)

Recommendation of the Day
http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/2k0gqx/thebeautydepartment.com
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SITE.
If you're into fashion, finding out new ways to style your hair, curious how to do some of the basics for hair and make-up, need make-up ideas for all times of the year, or tutorials on how to shape your eyebrows...THIS PLACE HAS EVERYTHING.
I seriously like check it every other day and there's usually at least one new post up.
When I have free time...let me rephrase, when I should be doing homework but instead I choose to waste time on the internet, I go to this site, go to the hair, makeup, or tutorials tab...and just scroll through and read what's interesting to me. And then when I get to the bottom of the page, I click OLDER ENTRIES and keep reading!!!
Seriously, check it out.

"The Virgin Diaries"
Wouldn't that be hysterical if that's what I renamed my blog? I could post like this:
Dear Diary,
Today I woke up. I went to school. I came home. I'm about to go to sleep. I am still a virgin.
Dear Diary,
Today I woke up. I saw David. We had a fun time. No worries though...I am still a virgin.
Dear Diary,
I'm getting married today. This will be my last blog post ever.
Ha! But no...not gonna do that. :P
BACK TO THE ORIGINAL INTENT OF THE POST.
This video was too hysterical for me NOT to share...brace yourselves.

Spoiled... :D
This last week was one of the most fantastic, fun, enjoyable, and happy weeks I've had in a long time. Not that weeks before have been bad...this one was just extra amazing. :)
Two Fridays ago, David had a music banquet thing that was for all the kids in Kutztown's marching band. I was his special guest of honor. :) That was really awesome for me cause I got to meet a bunch of his band friends that he's always talking about, and put faces with names. Plus, it gave me a chance to dress up. :) Yay re-using homecoming dresses!
And since the dance ended pretty late, my mom suggested that I stay over at the college...which was totally fine with me. :) I slept over at Erika's apartment (a girl David knows from band) and then I got to spend all of Saturday with David. :) Well most of Saturday...he had a football game at 12 so I spent those four hours in his room stumbling on the computer and then taking a two hour nap...which I was pleasantly woken up from. :) We ate dinner with his friend Ethan and then went to the senior recital of another one of his friends, Mike. That was a lot of fun to be at...good music, good playing, good stuff. Courtney drove me and David back home, and then he spent the night at my house! (His family was on vacation)
Woke up around 7 on Sunday and got to spend some quality snuggle time with David...during which he mentioned something about wanting a McGriddle and then we were like, hey, why not? So we went to McDonald's at like 8:30 in the morning, got a yummy breakfast, picked up some coffee for mom at WaWa, and then went back home. We took the youngins to church (mom was tired/sick), and then he went to his house to work on a paper while I spent the rest of the day over at dad's. He left that night at like 9 but then came back home Tuesday night!
Spent the night Tuesday...got all of Wednesday together (after I presented my grad project, which went PHENOMENALLY well), watched "Fight Club" Wednesday night (loved it/was confused/scared of it all at the same time), spent the night Wednesday, got all of Thursday together...which was awesome cause it was Thanksgiving, spent the night Thursday...and then left Friday for Bluecoats at around 9 in the morning.
I. WAS. SPOILED THIS WEEK. It was awesome. :)
And yes Cara, you can make fun of me for blogging about my man... ;D

You think you know a guy...
...and then he says something completely unexpected that amazes you beyond belief.
Tonight when David was driving me home he started telling me about how his English class has been looking at a lot of advertisements lately, especially ones targeted for women. He then proceeded to go on a rant about how he's fed up with society and its twisted views of beauty. And I quote: "The women on the front of magazines or in movies that are portrayed as being 'ideal'...yeah, I don't really find them that attractive."
MIND BLOWN. Like...I think most of them are really really pretty. So I'm sitting there, a little bewildered, and he goes on to talk about how society's ideal body shape is stick thin, but being that thin usually comes with little boobs...so then women pump themselves with silicon to get the bigger boobs but skinny body. NOT NATURAL. So it doesn't appeal to him. And he said he hates how their skin is always airbrushed...no flaws look ridiculous cause no one's like that, so it's not a 'turn on' for him cause he knows it's fake and why would he want something fake?
Him saying all that was like WOAH to me...like I can understand the thought process behind it all, but in my mind, those women are beautiful. I WISH I had the perfect skin. I WISH I could be just a bit skinnier but keep my boobs (which are awesome...just saying :P). Society's way of thinking has rubbed off on me...and even though I'm completely self-confident in who I am and I so do love my curves most of the the time, I have moments where I feel inadequate compared to those women/actresses.
Like tonight...we watched "Water for Elephants" (a very good movie, by the way) and in one scene the main actress comes out in this circus costume that exposes a lot of skin and it made her figure look really good. So my first thought was, "Oh she looks good" and then, "I wonder what I'd look like wearing that...probably not as good as she does." Like that was my first reaction. Even though I love who I am. Society really is a jerk.
Somehow David's immune to it though...or just has the ability to recognize the falsity of it all and be repulsed by it. I love knowing that he thinks I'm more beautiful than the women in the magazines...BECAUSE I have flaws and BECAUSE I have a real body that doesn't fit in size 0 jeans. He truly loves all of me...and that's an amazing feeling. I know that even if society gets to me, it'll never get to him or influence the way he looks at me.

Highlights of Homecoming 2011!
Last night was AWESOME! Took lots of fun pictures with Toby, Tucker, Cara, Jeanmarie, and Charlie at my house then headed off to the dance...where Toby got in with his fourth grade ID cause he couldn't find any from high school. :P Got all our jawn checked in...and then I decided to walk on the wild side and eat some tomato pie (I wore a white dress). Then everyone invaded the gym, the marching band formed its usual cluster...and the dancing commenced! And when I say dancing, I mean legit dancing. No grinding or humping for us! Except for the occasional 'joke grind'...but that's like for two seconds and always with someone of the same sex. So all in all...good clean fun!

I'm an English nerd
We read this short story today in my AP English class...it's insanely sad but SO incredibly brilliant! Oh my word I love literary analysis...haha!!!
"Birthday Party" by Katherine Brush
They were a couple in their late thirties, and they looked unmistakably married. They sat on the banquette opposite us in a little narrow restaurant, having dinner. The man had a round, self-satisfied face, with glasses on it; the woman was fadingly pretty, in a big hat.
There was nothing conspicuous about them, nothing particularly noticeable, until the end of their meal, when it suddenly became obvious that this was an Occasion—in fact, the husband’s birthday, and the wife had planned a little surprise for him.
It arrived, in the form of a small but glossy birthday cake, with one pink candle burning in the center. The headwaiter brought it in and placed it before the husband, and meanwhile the violin-and-piano orchestra played “Happy Birthday to You,” and the wife beamed with shy pride over her little surprise, and such few people as there were in the restaurant tried to help out with a pattering of applause. It became clear at once that help was needed, because the husband was not pleased. Instead, he was hotly embarrassed, and indignant at his wife for embarrassing him.
You looked at him and you saw this and you thought, “Oh, now, don’t be like that!” But he was like that, and as soon as the little cake had been deposited on the table, and the orchestra had finished the birthday piece, and the general attention had shifted from the man and the woman, I saw him say something to her under his breath—some punishing thing, quick and curt and unkind. I couldn’t bear to look at the woman then, so I stared at my plate and waited for quite a long time. Not long enough, though. She was still crying when I finally glanced over there again. Crying quietly and heartbrokenly and hopelessly, all to herself, under the gay big brim of her best hat.

Modernized Veggie Tales
Little kids' version: God is bigger than the boogey man. He's bigger than Godzilla or the monsters on TV, oh God is bigger than the boogey man...and He's watching over you and me.
Big kids' version: God is bigger than Satan. He's bigger than our sin and everything in the media that tells us we're not good enough, oh God is bigger than Satan...and He's watching over you and me.
God's awesome. :)

"Repel them! Repel them! Force them to relinquish the ellipsoid!!"
Oh yeah. The marching band came up with a cheer better than any of the ones the cheerleaders have.
End of story.

Funny Moments
I accidentally said "Amen" at the end of the pledge of allegiance today.
Last night at band practice, Pat noticed my purity ring. The conversation went like this...
Pat: What is that? Did David get it for you?
Me: (responding to the first question) It's a purity ring.
Pat: Oh so David DIDN'T get it for you.
Me: (on the phone with David discussing guys in my tenth period study hall) I didn't know guys could be SO idiotic. I'm actually rather impressed.
After dinner tonight, it was just me and mom and Sanya sitting talking about school. We got on the topic of how middle school relationships are awkward.
Me: And those goodbye kisses...they're pointless! It's like THE most awkward thing...PLUS, it's so short! It's like a little peck! If you're gonna kiss someone, KISS THEM. I mean really go for it! Like with David..." I stopped there...realizing my mom was sitting right next to me.
Mom: Well you (referring to Sanya) don't need to worry about kissing at all yet. And YOU (referring to me)...keep having fun and going for it." HAHA!
And psssst!!!! Not a funny moment but I have to share it anyway...I BOUGHT MY FIRST PAIR OF HIGH HEELS TODAY. :D

You know how when people are tired, they write "Zzzzzz"? Well that doesn't make any sense...cause right now I'm exhausted and the effort in hitting the right key over and over is just too hard...so the typage for tired should be something like "gtuihnir".......that's my head falling onto the keyboard...

Shout Out
Thank you to Toby for showing me this awesome piece of art. I love it THIS MUCH *streches arms out as far as they go*!
DCI Quarterfinals
Last night, the DCI Quarterfinals were held in Indianapolis, Indiana...and they were broadcasted live across the country in some 500 theaters.
IT. WAS. AWESOME.
The DCI show at the IMAX has always been one of my favorite things to go and watch, and this year was extra exciting cause I knew someone in one of the top corps! It is the most amazing feeling watching your boyfriend's corp perform and knowing that he's in there somewhere...on the movie screen. There's no way to describe what it feels like, so if you're curious, grab yourself a boyfriend (or girlfriend) and ship them off to drum corps for the summer and you'll get what I mean. You'll also have a 90-day drought of not seeing them...but it's all worth it!
Starting with the Madison Scouts and all the corps after, the shows were phenomenal...but my favorite of the night was the Bluecoats. Yes, I'm slightly biased that's the show David's in...BUT. Before last night, their show wasn't my favorite one of the season. Cavalier's "XtraordinarY" was. But something about the Bluecoats' sound, drill, and music last night just all made sense...like I feel like I finally GOT the show. And oh my word...I still can't get over their opener (WHICH IS THE BEST ONE OF THE SEASON BY FAR)...the way they build up "Creep" with the horns and then the big impact and the drill they have and the choreography...WOO!!!! So insanely good.

IT. WAS.

P I double S ED
So not happy right now.
Mad at myself...other people...drama...people obsessing over drama...UGH!
I'm in the mood where the words "suck" and "pissed", which are not usually in my vocabularly, are dropping all around like poop falling from the sky. Happy visual of the night everybody.

Cute :)
My little sister, Sanya, is starting to REALLY get into Broadway...or more specifically, "Wicked". She's been listening to the CD over and over...I have this huge book on how it was produced and she's stayed up many nights reading it. And NOW...she wants to sing a duet with me.
It's SOOOO cute! Like she's been practicing "For Good" and "What is this Feeling?" in our room over and over and over...it's kinda adorable. :)

Home again, home again!
I'm home...AGAIN. Back from another trip.
On Thursday we drove up (well technically I drove the ENTIRE way ;D) to New York to visit my grandma and grandpa. Did a lot of cleaning and organizing in my grandma's small room (she lives in a nursing home). Most of the time us youngins went to a separate room at the end of the hall and played games cause there wasn't enough room for us and only one person could really help clean at a time. But that was okay...we still had a good time. Ate some meals with grandma down in the cafeteria, got to have some good conversations, and we also got to see our Pop Pop and Uncle Dan when we were up there. Good visit. :)
But what made it even BETTER...is that near my grandma's nursing home, there was a huge outlet of stores and there were about five thrift stores all within five minutes of each other. FIVE. So uh...we had some fun with that. :)
Overall, I came home with eight new shirts, four tank tops, one pair of awesome yellow shorts, one bikini (THAT WAS $2!!!!!), one pair of sweatpants, and two pairs of shoes. Good times. :)

Purity Ring
Last year for my birthday my parents bought me a purity ring. Due to a series of unfortunate events (*ahem! Marching band!*) I lost it...haha, how bad does that sound? I lost my purity ring!
ANYWHO.
I reeeaaallly want to get a new one...but I can't decide which one I like the best. So I'll put up some of the ones I'm considering...let me know your thoughts!

XX vs XY
You know what I realized? Even though girls often complain about how much easier guys have things in life...we'll always be prettier than them. :)
...even if that pretty takes us 30 minutes longer than the time it takes guys to get ready. :P

Three strikes and yeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr OUT!!!!!
I barely know ANYTHING about baseball. Okay let's face it...I know practically nothing about baseball. Luckily though, this post is not about baseball. It's about my sister...Sanya.
DISCLAIMER: Much of this post will contain me making fun of, mocking, and/or just being annoyed with her. However, it needs to be noted that I do in fact love, care about, and have good times said sister. Those times though, will not be discussed at this moment.
Strike ONE: Today, my mom and us three youngins went to Target and BJ's. After we came out of Target, mom and I were putting bags away in the back and I saw some big yellow honkin' car truck thing drive by and I called, "Yellow honkin' car truck thing!" (My family has a tradition of yelling "Yellow car/truck/van/whatever it is!!!") So mom looks, laughs at its odd shape, and then we get in the car. As I'm getting in, I hear Sanya say, "Yellow car!" and see she's looking at what I just pointed out. But I figured it was kinda pointless to go, "I already CALLED that" so I let it be.
I drive over to BJ's (which is in the same plaza) and as I'm parking, mom yells, "Yellow car!" I look and then say, "Mom...that's the same car I called over at Target" and she's like "Oh..." and then SANYA hops in and says "I called that car!" Well this is what the conversation that ensued looked like...
Me: "I saw it first when mom and I were outside the car."
Sanya: "I called it! You just didn't hear me!"
Mom: (sensing tension rising and wanting to stop a disaster) "Well technically neither of you get it...cause when both of you called it we weren't in a moving vehicle. So it's my point!"
LET IT BE KNOWN THAT THE RULE THAT THE PERSON CALLING THE CAR MUST BE IN A MOVING VEHICLE TO RECEIVE A POINT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ENFORCED AND KNOWN TO BE A LEGIT RULE.
Me: "Okay fine..."
Sanya: "When has THAT been a rule??"
Me: "Uhhhh...forever? We've always had that rule."
Sanya: "Well I don't remember it."
Me: "It's always been the rule...mom gets the point."
At this point, I was climbing out of the car...Josh quickly following after me. I looked back, and saw that mom and Sanya were still in the car...with Sanya crying. My goodness gracious...
Strike TWO: When we were shopping in BJ's, an announcement was made that the store was gonna give away free gifts and there was some demo to show people and so mom went off to check it out but she told us three kids we could keep shopping if we wanted. So we did. Went through the list...found out jawn...it was going well. UNTIL I asked Sanya to get Bagel Bites...
We were about to go down another aisle when I realized we passed the frozen food section but we needed Bagel Bites. So I asked Sanya if she would go get some for us. EONS later...I see her walking back up to me and Josh...with Pizza Rolls. Here was the conversation that followed:
Sanya: "I got Pizza Rolls cause I couldn't find Bagel Bites."
Me: "But we don't need Pizza Rolls."
Sanya: "But I like them."
Me: "We have some at home so we don't need to buy more."
Sanya: "But I like them."
Me: "No...we have enough at home. We don't have to buy extra."
Sanya: "Well when we all sat down today and talked about what we like for lunch and what we're gonna get we mentioned Pizza Rolls, so I got them."
Me: "No...mom asked us what we like to eat for lunches during the summer. We mentioned Bagel Bites, Pizza Rolls, ravioli, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches...but only Bagel Bites and ravioli got put on the shopping list cause we have Pizza Rolls and peanut butter and jelly and bread at home."
Sanya: *SIGH* "Fine I'll go put them back..."
She takes three steps away from me, stops, turns back with her head over her shoulder, and says, "But you don't need to be so DEFENSIVE about it..." and then whips her head back around and keeps walking.
It was HYSTERICAL. Josh and I looked at each other and we were like WHAT IN THE WORLD??? We just started laughing...and then I say to him, "I thought I handled that pretty well..." and he agrees with me that I did. So I giggle and say in a sing-songy voice, "I'm gonna tell mom!" Which I did...and she laughed about it too.
Strike THREE: At BJ's, we bought a frozen pizza for dinner. Got home...heated it up, and then ended up eating in the living room because our dining room table was a mess. So we got out our two TV tables (little stands that make eating on a couch SO much easier) and put one in front of each couch...one where Sanya was sitting, one where Josh was sitting. I went to get the drinks, and I came back with mine and Sanya's. I put my water on the right side of the table and her milk on the left side. I turn to walk away but she looks up and me and asks, "Why did you put mine over THERE?" Now...sometimes I see the logic in her questions...there's some sense behind them. This though? Uhhh...kinda just weird and annoying. But I tried to stay calm...here's the conversation:
Me: "Because that way when I come to sit down, I won't have to walk around the TV table and avoid the living room table. I can just slide onto the couch and have my food in front of me."
Sanya: "But I'm sitting HERE."
Me: "I thought it'd be easier for you to scooch over a bit then for me to have to go out of my way to sit down...but fine." *I pick up the glasses and switch their places*
Sanya: "Nevermind. It's fine."
Me: "OBVIOUSLY not..." *I don't move them back*
Sanya: "No I said NEVERMIND!"
Me: "You know what? This isn't worth it...I'm sitting with Josh." *picked up my glass and went and put it on his TV table*
Strike three. She's OUT.

This is what I got for me...
Mood: I'm a Sofisticat
- You're an adventurous soul with a bit of a romantic outlook
- Family is top of the pops for you. For kicks there is nothing like a little affection to give you a buzz.
- Music is a really positive force in your life - and a big relief if you're feeling stressed. (SO TRUE!)
- You don't like to take things too seriously.
Selfish selfish selfish
So today around lunch time, Sanya asked me if we could look through her new cookbook together. And honestly? I didn't want to. I didn't wanna sit and be all cutesy with her on the couch and look at every recipe and make a comment about each one...
But then I had a thought. What makes what I want more important than what she wants?
I wanted to not look at the cookbook.
She wanted me to look at the cookbook.
And if I had gone with what I had wanted, it kind of would have been the same as me telling her that compared to me, her thoughts and wants aren't as important as mine. And that's just a mean thing.
But people (including myself) do it ALL the time...someone asks them to do something, they say no cause it's not what THEY want. Mylanta how selfish we all are...seriously.
It's kinda sad to think about.
Needless to say, I ended up going through the cookbook with her. And it made her so happy...and shouldn't I have thought of that from the beginning? Shouldn't her happiness be more important than my silly wants?
Something to ponder.

Forgive and Forget
You know something? I'm not a relationship guru. You probably all know that already but seeing as this post is gonna be about relationships and me giving advice I figured I should have that disclaimer before I begin...haha.
So lately I've been doing a lot of thinking. Like about relationships and what makes them work and what causes problems and how people get through them...just a lot of general stuff. And recently I've also been giving people a lot of advice too (don't worry...it was asked for...I didn't just jump into anyone's business, haha) and so it got me doubly thinking. And I asked myself...if I had to come up with the "key to a relationship", the one thing that will help get you through almost anything...what would it be?
Took some pondering, but I confidently have my answer: In order to maintain a loving relationship and have it last through the years, you must learn to forgive and forget.
Those two things...together, have been one of the hardest obstacles I've had to hurdle with David. Neither are easy, and I don't think they're that natural either. They require letting go of the need for fairness and justice...and I do enjoy a good-size portion of both of those. But it's turned out that I'm much happier without them. Because instead of the focus being who's right and who's wrong...the focus turns to expressing love and mutually agreeing to move past something in order to be better together.
So those are my wise words of wisdom for the night...for all of you in relationships, all of you thinking about being in a relationship, and all of you who are happily single but will someday get married. ;D

HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!!
I got to see my Jenny! I got to see my Jenny! La la la la la la laaaa!!!! *dance party*
Earlier today I was working on homework and I passed the piano (atop which my phone was perched) and I checked to see if I did. Getting all excited and thinking it was David, I flipped my phone open and saw that it was from Jenny...JENNY. MY JENNY. I quickly clicked on it and it was her asking if I was doing anything today. I very excitedly replied NOPE! and then CHARGED up to the stairs (atop which my mother was sitting) and attacked her with a hug screaming "JENNY TEXTED ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The next fifteen minutes was spent figuring out how we could see each other/what worked/times and all that and also putting real clothes on (I previously had fake clothes on...aka, pajamas). It all haphazardly worked out so that my brother's friend's mom gave me a ride to Franconia Park...haha!
So we got there...sat in the car talking about my upcoming senior year for a bit, AND THEN SHE PULLED IN! Happy happy joy joy!!!!
The rest of the afternoon was spent with me and her walking around the park having wonderful conversations, plopping on a bench and having wonderful conversations, and then playing on the playground! The playground there...oh my word, SO AWESOME. It had so many cool gadgets and jawn that I had never seen before in my life!
So uh yeah...awesome day today. :)
P.S. Hi Jenny!!! ;D

People change...now, I'm a lamp.
So you know how there are those sites that have really cool pictures with awesome quotes on them? Well...I found a site that kinda makes fun of those. They have the original picture and quote, and then in a red font they add their own little quote to it...some of them are kinda hilarious.

Wildwood 2011
I'M HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saturday morning, my dad and Josh and I all left for Wildwood, NJ for a vacation!!! (Sanya joined us Sunday afternoon) This was HUGE cause my family doesn't do vacations...like we've gone to Ledgebrook a couple times, but that's been more like camping than a legit vacation...and we've NEVER done the beach vacation. So we were looking forward to this for a LONG TIME.
And it didn't disappoint. :) It was a GREAT week down there!
Saturday we moved all our stuff into the condo we rented, walked down the Boardwalk (LONG WALK...we did a lot of walking the past week, haha), played some games in the arcade, then went and watched Richard (son of a friend...he's my age) play soccer on the beach with his team. I guess there's this huge "Beach Blast" thing that happens down there each year...I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT! Haha...but it was fun watching the game. And we got to meet Kevin, a friend of Richard's.
Sidenote: Every single time we saw Kevin (which was only like...three times), I had SUCH a difficult time saying his name normally...have any of you ever seen 3-2-1 Penguins? Cause if you have, you know where I'm going with this...on that show, there's a penguin named Kevin, except they don't say it normal like...it's hard to explain, but the emphasis is more on the VIN...it just sounds really goofy, and whenever I think Kevin, that's the only way I hear it in my head. But I tried very hard to say his name normally. :P
ANYWHO. We then went to the beach a little...but then decided to go back to their hotel and went in the jacuzzi there. :)
And I just realized that this post could get ridiculously long going over every single detail...so I'll only hit the really memorable stuff:

Me and Josh...I had sunken into the sand so when he stood next to me he was so much taller than me. ;D

The moat dad built around me...with me sleeping and attempting to tan. :P

Me and my bro and sista! (Notice the red, white, and blue...haha!)

The morning of the sunrise.

And I just realized that this post could get ridiculously long going over every single detail...so I'll only hit the really memorable stuff:
- I barely tanned (the 50 spf sunscreen really worked...*sniffle*)
- One time I feel asleep on our blankets at the beach, and dad built a moat around me so when I woke up there was this trench around the perimeter of the blankets and it FREAKED ME OUT
- We built a very complex sandcastle
- A guy came up to me and asked me to talk to his friend cause the friend was too shy to come up to me himself
- I ate very yummy food
- Got freckles on my nose!
- Went mini-golfing (AND I WAS BEAST)
- Played lots of games at the condo
- Saw the sunrise at 5:30 in the morning...it was phenomenal
- Pulled into the WaWa parking lot blasting a Christian song and jamming out like no other (everyone in the car in the space next to us cheered when we got out)
- Had a ridiculously fun time playing in the waves every single day

Me and Josh...I had sunken into the sand so when he stood next to me he was so much taller than me. ;D

4. What is the first thought that usually crosses your mind the second you open your eyes in the morning?
Almost every morning I wake up to my alarm, and so my first thoughts are usually "Gotta turn it off...oh my word it's so loud...don't fall down the ladder (I sleep on the top of a bunk bed)...where's the off button? I CAN'T FIND IT. This is so annoying...GOT IT."
And then the second topic of thoughts would be, "Where's my bra and underwear?"
I have a MESSY ROOM. So stuff is usually just strewn all over the place...which isn't a problem for me, except in the wee hours of the morning when I gotta go take a shower and I can't find the necessaries. :P
So I think this question was supposed to make you realize something deep about yourself and what the first thoughts you have every day are supposed to mean...OOPS. Well I guess I learned that my alarm clock annoys me and I need to clean my room more often. Haha!!

Actual (AWESOME) Letter
Dear Mr. Thatcher,
I have been a loyal user of your 'Always' maxi pads for over 20 years and I appreciate many of their features. Why, without the LeakGuard Core or Dri-Weave absorbency, I'd probably never go horseback riding or salsa dancing, and I'd certainly steer clear of running up and down the beach in tight, white shorts. But my favorite feature has to be your revolutionary Flexi-Wings. Kudos on being the only company smart enough to realize how crucial it is that maxi pads be aerodynamic. I can't tell you how safe and secure I feel each month knowing there's a little F-16 in my pants.
Have you ever had a menstrual period, Mr. Thatcher? Ever suffered from 'the curse'? I'm guessing you haven't. Well, my time of the month is starting right now. As I type, I can already feel hormonal forces violently surging through my body. Just a few minutes from now, my body will adjust and I'll be transformed into what my husband likes to call 'an inbred hillbilly with knife skills.' Isn't the human body amazing?
As Brand Manager in the Feminine-Hygiene Division, you've no doubt seen quite a bit of research on what exactly happens during your customers' monthly visits from 'Aunt Flo'. Therefore, you must know about the bloating, puffiness, and cramping we endure, and about our intense mood swings, crying jags, and out-of-control behavior. You surely realize it's a tough time for most women. In fact, only last week, my friend Jennifer fought the violent urge to shove her boyfriend's testicles into a George Foreman Grill just because he told her he thought Grey's Anatomy was written by drunken chimps. Crazy!
The point is, sir, you of all people must realize that America is just crawling with homicidal maniacs in Capri pants... Which brings me to the reason for my letter. Last month, while in the throes of cramping so painful I wanted to reach inside my body and yank out my uterus, I opened an Always maxi-pad, and there, printed on the adhesive backing, were these words: 'Have a Happy Period'.
Are you fu*%ing kidding me? What I mean is, does any part of your tiny middle-manager brain really think happiness - actual smiling, laughing happiness is possible during a menstrual period? Did anything mentioned above sound the least bit pleasurable? Well, did it, James? FYI, unless you're some kind of sick S&M freak girl, there will never be anything 'happy' about a day in which you have to jack yourself up on Motrin and Kahlua and lock yourself in your house just so you don't march down to the local Walgreen's armed with a hunting rifle and a sketchy plan to end your life in a blaze of glory.
For the love of God, pull your head out, man! If you just have to slap a moronic message on a maxi pad, wouldn't it make more sense to say something that's actually pertinent, like 'Put down the Hammer' or 'Vehicular Manslaughter is Wrong', or are you just picking on us? Sir, please inform your Accounting Department that, effective immediately, there will be an $8 drop in monthly profits, for I have chosen to take my maxi-pad business elsewhere. And though I will certainly miss your Flex-Wings, I will not for one minute miss your brand of condescending bull sh*t. And that's a promise I will keep. Always!
Best,

Overview of Top 8 Corps (Early Season)
I totally forgot to talk about the other corps!!! Haha...you know how it is, you start thinking about your man and it gets difficult to focus on anything else... ;D
ANYWHO.
Here's my overview of the night (in order of appearance):
ANYWHO.
Here's my overview of the night (in order of appearance):
- Blue Devils were boring. Did not like the music and there was only one moment in the drill where I was like "Ooooh!"...didn't get the show. They were clean though and played very well...which I guess is why the judges scored them well.
- Cavaliers were awesome. The drill was SO clean. And there was so many little moments...like every ten seconds I was ooohing or aaaahing about something in the drill or musically.
- Bluecoats were amazing. Drumline was INSANE, and the brass balance was just phenomenal. Had my favorite opener too...crazy dancing and then "Creep" was beautiful.
- Carolina Crown was just insanely entertaining. SO much energy, and I really liked the arrangement of some of their music. A lot of moments where I laughed cause it was just crazy fun. Ex: the drum major swings his arm around like he's strumming an air guitar while the brass move their horns in circle and make a distortion sound. FUN STUFF.
- The Cadets were (surprisingly) really good. I didn't want to like them but the show's great, some really cool moments, RIDICULOUS drill, and cool concept---Demons and Angels, half the corps is in white, the other half is in red so it's a very visually-fascinating show.
- Phantom Regiment's show was...pretty. Nice moments, nice music, nice drill...they walked off the field and I was just like, "That was pretty." Not a huge standout for me. They have a GORGEOUS sound, but I didn't completely follow their show...didn't quite get it. But it was pretty.
- Santa Clara Vanguard was INTENSE. The basic show concept is that their brass members are trying to escape from hell. CRAZY. A bit repetitive at times, but overall I really enjoyed their show.
- Blue Stars had some of my favorite music. They took some scores from the "Bourne Ultimatum" movies and it was really cool. Didn't completely love their drill design, but it was a fun show to watch.

Blooooo!!!!!!!
Last night was AWESOME. It was BEYOND AWESOME. It was...*wait for it*...BEYAWESOME!
Haha! So for those of you who don't know, this year DCI decided to do something differently...the first big competition of the season was hosted in Texas where all top eight corps from last year performed their new 2011 shows. Aaaaannnddd...the best part is, that the shows from Sunday night were aired LAST night in movie theaters across the country. Aaaaaaaannnnddddd...I GOT TO GO!!!!
I went with David's parents, who graciously adopted me as their child for the night...haha! We got there, found people we know, and hunkered down waiting for the show to start. The first two corps went (Blue Devils and Cavaliers) and then came David's corp...THE BLUECOATS!!!!!!
The show.
was.
AMAZING.
I loved it so much. And I seriously could not stop smiling the entire time...it is the BEST feeling in the world...watching an incredibly talented group perform, knowing that people all over the country are watching and admiring the same thing, and having your boyfriend be a part of it. Like "proud" doesn't even BEGIN to cover what it felt like...it was pride and giddiness and happiness and OHMYWORD MY BOYFRIEND'S A PART OF THISness all combined in one. Someone needs to make up a new word for that. :P
AND THEN. As if that all wasn't enough!!! I SAW HIM. ON THE MOVIE SCREEN. Not during the show (though his mom and I were double-checking everytime there was a close-up of a trumpet), but afterwards...they had a camera showing the corp members marching off the stage and he walked right across the screen!!!
HIS SWEATY GORGEOUS TAN FACE WAS ONLY A FEW YARDS AWAY FROM ME.
Happy sigh...his parents and I had a little cheering freak-out cheering fest in the theater, hehe. :)
During intermission (it's a long event), I was standing in the lobby and I saw a girl I knew from Souderton that graduated last year. So I ran up to her, gave her a big hug, talked a little bit about college and all that...and then of course the topic turned to DCI and our favorite parts of everything we had just watched. There were about six other girls with her (I didn't know any of them) and so we were all kinda gathered in this huge huddle. I asked what their favorites were so far and Casey said, "Cavaliers and Bluecoats" and all the girls nodded in agreement...at this point, I started grinning and calmly said, "My boyfriend marches Bluecoats."
Their jaws all HIT THE FLOOR. It was the GREATEST THING. Then they all started doing that high-pitched shrieky thing that girls do when they get really excited and there was a ton of, "Oh my gosh that's so awesome"/"Are you SEROUS???"/"I'm SOOOO jealous!"/"You are the luckiest girl EVER" and of course a little more shrieking. I was on top of the world. :)
And then, being girls, we all had another little freak out moment when I mentioned that when he comes home in August he's ridiculously tan and has awesome muscles...
I must say, seeing the Bluecoats' show, seeing David on the screen, and that conversation were the highlights of my night. :)

3. If you knew you had only one week to live, how and with whom would you spend it?
One week to live...that's a little overwhelming. :P
Well, I guess I'll just list the thoughts that immediately pop into my head. I'd want to see my Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Dan, and Pop Pop one last time so I'd make a day trip to New York with my mom (she'd want to see them all too), David (so he could meet them and spend more time with me), and my dad (so I could spend extra time with both my parents).
Of course I'd spend a day with Jenny, doing whatever we wanted to...swimming, girl talking, movie watching, Zelda playing...whatever we felt like.
And then a day with Cara too. We'd definitely go and do the 50 Nugget Challenge together. :)
I'd wanna go to Six Flags one last time too, ride all my favorite rides.
Oh! I'd want to see one last Broadway show too. :)
And I think it'd be cool to have a big party on my last day...to celebrate the life that I got to experience with everyone I love. So friends could come to that, extended family if they could make it, neighbors...anyone. That way I could leave this world surrounded with lots of love and happiness. :)
And to be perfectly honest, I'd probably have sex with David one of the days...haha.
Let's see...have I used up all my days yet?
Monday: Travel up to New York with Mom, Dad, and David. Visit everyone up there.
Tuesday: Travel back, stop in New York City for a Broadway show (most likely Phantom of the Opera).
Wednesday: Day with Jenny.
Thursday: Day with Cara.
Friday: Day at amusement park (with Dad and David).
Saturday: Day with David.
Sunday: Party!!!!
Well I'm glad I have now planned out my last week on this earth...I feel prepared. HAHA! ;D

Happy Daddy's Day!
You know...I've never called my dad "father," except when joking or something, so I've officially changed it to "Daddy's Day." At least that's what it is in my book...haha.
Today was SO much fun!! Went to church, saw David's family for the first time since he left, and it was really great. His dad invited me to go to the theaters with them tomorrow night to see the top eight drum corps from last year and some of them first few shows. SO EXCITED. And then I stood and talked to his mom for like fifteen minutes...SHE. IS. AWESOME. :)
Then went home, wrapped Daddy's presents, and then did the presenting of the presents when he came to pick us up. The big thing for today was that we got him a WaWa gift card so that we could all go and get our lunch there and then go to a park to eat. We chose to go to Evansburg (never been there, loved it!) and pop a squat at a picnic table. Lunch was DELICIOUS, and then we hiked through the woods, discovering trails and other parts of the park there. Then we headed down to the creek and spent like an hour there...or more, I bet it was more.
Amazing how throwing rocks into a creek can be so fascinating...haha, it really is. We did that for a bit, I tried to learn how to skip rocks (FAILED), and then we all took our shoes off and went in the water. It was really shallow so we were able to cross really easily, and then once we got over there we had a fun photo shoot of sorts. Daddy's posting the pictures tomorrow, so I'll put them up then. Some of them were REALLY funny. Like Dad and Josh took their shirts off cause it was so hot and there's one picture of Josh standing between me and Sanya and we're both kissing him on the cheek...he's DA MAN!
Then as we were leaving to walk back up to the trail, Josh and I got stung by bees. At about the same time. Sanya was in the lead, then dad, then me, and then Josh. All of a sudden, I heard Josh gasp, "Ow!" and as I turned to see what had happened to him I felt this INSANELY PAINFUL pinch on my lower back. I glanced back to see what had happened and there was a bright yellow bee climbing up my back. I flung it off as fast as I could and then stood there and try to process the agonizing pulsing pain on my back. When Dad figured out what had happened, he was like, "Okay! Everyone back to the car!" Josh and I hustled our BUTTS to get out of the woods...with him limping (got stung on the leg) and me holding the spot on my back where it hurt (excuse the language) like hell. Once we got to the parking lot Dad took a lot at Josh's spot and then asked to see my sting. So I lifted up my shirt and I heard Sanya say, "Oooh! That's BAD!" OH GEE THANKS. :P
We went to a close WaWa, got ice, went home, got baking soda on it and all that good stuff, and the pain dulled down a bit. It's still throbbing though. :(
The rest of the afternoon we played games and ate yummy food...good end to an overall great day. :)
I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!!!
