Almost every morning I wake up to my alarm, and so my first thoughts are usually "Gotta turn it off...oh my word it's so loud...don't fall down the ladder (I sleep on the top of a bunk bed)...where's the off button? I CAN'T FIND IT. This is so annoying...GOT IT."
And then the second topic of thoughts would be, "Where's my bra and underwear?"
I have a MESSY ROOM. So stuff is usually just strewn all over the place...which isn't a problem for me, except in the wee hours of the morning when I gotta go take a shower and I can't find the necessaries. :P
So I think this question was supposed to make you realize something deep about yourself and what the first thoughts you have every day are supposed to mean...OOPS. Well I guess I learned that my alarm clock annoys me and I need to clean my room more often. Haha!!

Actual (AWESOME) Letter
Dear Mr. Thatcher,
I have been a loyal user of your 'Always' maxi pads for over 20 years and I appreciate many of their features. Why, without the LeakGuard Core or Dri-Weave absorbency, I'd probably never go horseback riding or salsa dancing, and I'd certainly steer clear of running up and down the beach in tight, white shorts. But my favorite feature has to be your revolutionary Flexi-Wings. Kudos on being the only company smart enough to realize how crucial it is that maxi pads be aerodynamic. I can't tell you how safe and secure I feel each month knowing there's a little F-16 in my pants.
Have you ever had a menstrual period, Mr. Thatcher? Ever suffered from 'the curse'? I'm guessing you haven't. Well, my time of the month is starting right now. As I type, I can already feel hormonal forces violently surging through my body. Just a few minutes from now, my body will adjust and I'll be transformed into what my husband likes to call 'an inbred hillbilly with knife skills.' Isn't the human body amazing?
As Brand Manager in the Feminine-Hygiene Division, you've no doubt seen quite a bit of research on what exactly happens during your customers' monthly visits from 'Aunt Flo'. Therefore, you must know about the bloating, puffiness, and cramping we endure, and about our intense mood swings, crying jags, and out-of-control behavior. You surely realize it's a tough time for most women. In fact, only last week, my friend Jennifer fought the violent urge to shove her boyfriend's testicles into a George Foreman Grill just because he told her he thought Grey's Anatomy was written by drunken chimps. Crazy!
The point is, sir, you of all people must realize that America is just crawling with homicidal maniacs in Capri pants... Which brings me to the reason for my letter. Last month, while in the throes of cramping so painful I wanted to reach inside my body and yank out my uterus, I opened an Always maxi-pad, and there, printed on the adhesive backing, were these words: 'Have a Happy Period'.
Are you fu*%ing kidding me? What I mean is, does any part of your tiny middle-manager brain really think happiness - actual smiling, laughing happiness is possible during a menstrual period? Did anything mentioned above sound the least bit pleasurable? Well, did it, James? FYI, unless you're some kind of sick S&M freak girl, there will never be anything 'happy' about a day in which you have to jack yourself up on Motrin and Kahlua and lock yourself in your house just so you don't march down to the local Walgreen's armed with a hunting rifle and a sketchy plan to end your life in a blaze of glory.
For the love of God, pull your head out, man! If you just have to slap a moronic message on a maxi pad, wouldn't it make more sense to say something that's actually pertinent, like 'Put down the Hammer' or 'Vehicular Manslaughter is Wrong', or are you just picking on us? Sir, please inform your Accounting Department that, effective immediately, there will be an $8 drop in monthly profits, for I have chosen to take my maxi-pad business elsewhere. And though I will certainly miss your Flex-Wings, I will not for one minute miss your brand of condescending bull sh*t. And that's a promise I will keep. Always!
Best,

Overview of Top 8 Corps (Early Season)
I totally forgot to talk about the other corps!!! Haha...you know how it is, you start thinking about your man and it gets difficult to focus on anything else... ;D
ANYWHO.
Here's my overview of the night (in order of appearance):
ANYWHO.
Here's my overview of the night (in order of appearance):
- Blue Devils were boring. Did not like the music and there was only one moment in the drill where I was like "Ooooh!"...didn't get the show. They were clean though and played very well...which I guess is why the judges scored them well.
- Cavaliers were awesome. The drill was SO clean. And there was so many little moments...like every ten seconds I was ooohing or aaaahing about something in the drill or musically.
- Bluecoats were amazing. Drumline was INSANE, and the brass balance was just phenomenal. Had my favorite opener too...crazy dancing and then "Creep" was beautiful.
- Carolina Crown was just insanely entertaining. SO much energy, and I really liked the arrangement of some of their music. A lot of moments where I laughed cause it was just crazy fun. Ex: the drum major swings his arm around like he's strumming an air guitar while the brass move their horns in circle and make a distortion sound. FUN STUFF.
- The Cadets were (surprisingly) really good. I didn't want to like them but the show's great, some really cool moments, RIDICULOUS drill, and cool concept---Demons and Angels, half the corps is in white, the other half is in red so it's a very visually-fascinating show.
- Phantom Regiment's show was...pretty. Nice moments, nice music, nice drill...they walked off the field and I was just like, "That was pretty." Not a huge standout for me. They have a GORGEOUS sound, but I didn't completely follow their show...didn't quite get it. But it was pretty.
- Santa Clara Vanguard was INTENSE. The basic show concept is that their brass members are trying to escape from hell. CRAZY. A bit repetitive at times, but overall I really enjoyed their show.
- Blue Stars had some of my favorite music. They took some scores from the "Bourne Ultimatum" movies and it was really cool. Didn't completely love their drill design, but it was a fun show to watch.

Blooooo!!!!!!!
Last night was AWESOME. It was BEYOND AWESOME. It was...*wait for it*...BEYAWESOME!
Haha! So for those of you who don't know, this year DCI decided to do something differently...the first big competition of the season was hosted in Texas where all top eight corps from last year performed their new 2011 shows. Aaaaannnddd...the best part is, that the shows from Sunday night were aired LAST night in movie theaters across the country. Aaaaaaaannnnddddd...I GOT TO GO!!!!
I went with David's parents, who graciously adopted me as their child for the night...haha! We got there, found people we know, and hunkered down waiting for the show to start. The first two corps went (Blue Devils and Cavaliers) and then came David's corp...THE BLUECOATS!!!!!!
The show.
was.
AMAZING.
I loved it so much. And I seriously could not stop smiling the entire time...it is the BEST feeling in the world...watching an incredibly talented group perform, knowing that people all over the country are watching and admiring the same thing, and having your boyfriend be a part of it. Like "proud" doesn't even BEGIN to cover what it felt like...it was pride and giddiness and happiness and OHMYWORD MY BOYFRIEND'S A PART OF THISness all combined in one. Someone needs to make up a new word for that. :P
AND THEN. As if that all wasn't enough!!! I SAW HIM. ON THE MOVIE SCREEN. Not during the show (though his mom and I were double-checking everytime there was a close-up of a trumpet), but afterwards...they had a camera showing the corp members marching off the stage and he walked right across the screen!!!
HIS SWEATY GORGEOUS TAN FACE WAS ONLY A FEW YARDS AWAY FROM ME.
Happy sigh...his parents and I had a little cheering freak-out cheering fest in the theater, hehe. :)
During intermission (it's a long event), I was standing in the lobby and I saw a girl I knew from Souderton that graduated last year. So I ran up to her, gave her a big hug, talked a little bit about college and all that...and then of course the topic turned to DCI and our favorite parts of everything we had just watched. There were about six other girls with her (I didn't know any of them) and so we were all kinda gathered in this huge huddle. I asked what their favorites were so far and Casey said, "Cavaliers and Bluecoats" and all the girls nodded in agreement...at this point, I started grinning and calmly said, "My boyfriend marches Bluecoats."
Their jaws all HIT THE FLOOR. It was the GREATEST THING. Then they all started doing that high-pitched shrieky thing that girls do when they get really excited and there was a ton of, "Oh my gosh that's so awesome"/"Are you SEROUS???"/"I'm SOOOO jealous!"/"You are the luckiest girl EVER" and of course a little more shrieking. I was on top of the world. :)
And then, being girls, we all had another little freak out moment when I mentioned that when he comes home in August he's ridiculously tan and has awesome muscles...
I must say, seeing the Bluecoats' show, seeing David on the screen, and that conversation were the highlights of my night. :)

3. If you knew you had only one week to live, how and with whom would you spend it?
One week to live...that's a little overwhelming. :P
Well, I guess I'll just list the thoughts that immediately pop into my head. I'd want to see my Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Dan, and Pop Pop one last time so I'd make a day trip to New York with my mom (she'd want to see them all too), David (so he could meet them and spend more time with me), and my dad (so I could spend extra time with both my parents).
Of course I'd spend a day with Jenny, doing whatever we wanted to...swimming, girl talking, movie watching, Zelda playing...whatever we felt like.
And then a day with Cara too. We'd definitely go and do the 50 Nugget Challenge together. :)
I'd wanna go to Six Flags one last time too, ride all my favorite rides.
Oh! I'd want to see one last Broadway show too. :)
And I think it'd be cool to have a big party on my last day...to celebrate the life that I got to experience with everyone I love. So friends could come to that, extended family if they could make it, neighbors...anyone. That way I could leave this world surrounded with lots of love and happiness. :)
And to be perfectly honest, I'd probably have sex with David one of the days...haha.
Let's see...have I used up all my days yet?
Monday: Travel up to New York with Mom, Dad, and David. Visit everyone up there.
Tuesday: Travel back, stop in New York City for a Broadway show (most likely Phantom of the Opera).
Wednesday: Day with Jenny.
Thursday: Day with Cara.
Friday: Day at amusement park (with Dad and David).
Saturday: Day with David.
Sunday: Party!!!!
Well I'm glad I have now planned out my last week on this earth...I feel prepared. HAHA! ;D

Happy Daddy's Day!
You know...I've never called my dad "father," except when joking or something, so I've officially changed it to "Daddy's Day." At least that's what it is in my book...haha.
Today was SO much fun!! Went to church, saw David's family for the first time since he left, and it was really great. His dad invited me to go to the theaters with them tomorrow night to see the top eight drum corps from last year and some of them first few shows. SO EXCITED. And then I stood and talked to his mom for like fifteen minutes...SHE. IS. AWESOME. :)
Then went home, wrapped Daddy's presents, and then did the presenting of the presents when he came to pick us up. The big thing for today was that we got him a WaWa gift card so that we could all go and get our lunch there and then go to a park to eat. We chose to go to Evansburg (never been there, loved it!) and pop a squat at a picnic table. Lunch was DELICIOUS, and then we hiked through the woods, discovering trails and other parts of the park there. Then we headed down to the creek and spent like an hour there...or more, I bet it was more.
Amazing how throwing rocks into a creek can be so fascinating...haha, it really is. We did that for a bit, I tried to learn how to skip rocks (FAILED), and then we all took our shoes off and went in the water. It was really shallow so we were able to cross really easily, and then once we got over there we had a fun photo shoot of sorts. Daddy's posting the pictures tomorrow, so I'll put them up then. Some of them were REALLY funny. Like Dad and Josh took their shirts off cause it was so hot and there's one picture of Josh standing between me and Sanya and we're both kissing him on the cheek...he's DA MAN!
Then as we were leaving to walk back up to the trail, Josh and I got stung by bees. At about the same time. Sanya was in the lead, then dad, then me, and then Josh. All of a sudden, I heard Josh gasp, "Ow!" and as I turned to see what had happened to him I felt this INSANELY PAINFUL pinch on my lower back. I glanced back to see what had happened and there was a bright yellow bee climbing up my back. I flung it off as fast as I could and then stood there and try to process the agonizing pulsing pain on my back. When Dad figured out what had happened, he was like, "Okay! Everyone back to the car!" Josh and I hustled our BUTTS to get out of the woods...with him limping (got stung on the leg) and me holding the spot on my back where it hurt (excuse the language) like hell. Once we got to the parking lot Dad took a lot at Josh's spot and then asked to see my sting. So I lifted up my shirt and I heard Sanya say, "Oooh! That's BAD!" OH GEE THANKS. :P
We went to a close WaWa, got ice, went home, got baking soda on it and all that good stuff, and the pain dulled down a bit. It's still throbbing though. :(
The rest of the afternoon we played games and ate yummy food...good end to an overall great day. :)
I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!!!

Reasons Why It's Great to be a Girl/Guy
I'm just popping out these blog posts today!!! Woo! I'm like a rabbit and they're my babies...yeah, I'm in a weird mood, haha.
ANYWHO.
I was stumbling, AGAIN, and I found a site that lists all the reasons why being a girl is awesome and all the reasons why being a guy is awesome. There's a TON for each, so I'll just copy/paste the good ones.
To be a girl:
ANYWHO.
I was stumbling, AGAIN, and I found a site that lists all the reasons why being a girl is awesome and all the reasons why being a guy is awesome. There's a TON for each, so I'll just copy/paste the good ones.
To be a girl:
- Free dinners.
- You can cry without pretending there's something in your contact.
- You actually get extra points for sitting on your butt, watching sports.
- You could possibly live your whole life without ever taking a group shower.
- Orlando Bloom.
- When you take off your shoes, nobody passes out.
- You can dress yourself.
- You and your friends don't have to get totally wasted in order to share your feelings.
- Sitting and watching people is all the entertainment you need.
- Your friend won't think you're weird when you ask if there's spinach in your teeth.
- Sometimes, chocolate truly can solve all your problems.
- If you're under 6', you don't have to lie about it.
- You don't have hair on your back.
- You can be attracted to someone just because they're really funny.
- You can borrow your spouse's clothes and it doesn't mean you belong on Jerry Springer.
- The bathroom lines are 80% shorter. (I AM SO JEALOUS)
- You can open all your own jars.
- You don't have to lug a bag of useless stuff around everywhere you go.
- You can go to the bathroom without a support group.
- You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
- You can be showered and ready in 10 minutes.
- Your underwear is $10 for a three pack.
- You don't have to shave below your neck.
- You can wear a white shirt to a water park.
- Three pair of shoes is more than enough.
- Nobody stops telling a good dirty joke when you walk into the room.
- You can whip your shirt off on a hot day. (SO LUCKY)
- You can watch a game in silence with you buddy for hours without even thinking, "He must be mad at me."
- Wedding Dress $2000; Tux rental $100.
- You don't mooch off others' desserts.
- New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
2. As a kid, what did you dream of becoming when you grew up?
When I was little, I was convinced that one day I was gonna be on Broadway. I memorized the CD's of my favorite shows, picked the character that I would love to play the most, and figured out at what age I could go to New York to play the role.
For Lion King, I was going to be Young Nala. And I figured I could do that when I was around nine or ten.
For Phantom of the Opera, I wanted to be Meg. I knew I couldn't hit the notes that Christine hit (though I certainly did try...my poor parents), and Meg was adorable and a dancer and I wanted to dance as well, so I would play her when I was around fifteen.
For Aida, I was going to play Amneris. I wanted to be Aida, but I wasn't African-American so I knew it would never work. Amneris was just as good though, she sang my favorite song of the whole show, "My Strongest Suit".
And for Les Mis, I was going to be Little Cosette. Funny part is that when I was living in California, around when I was seven of eight, there was a casting call in New York City for that role. And my parents thought I could do it. So we practiced and I trained for about a month, before I decided not to go. I was already involved with another professional production and if I went I would lose my spot in that one. And since the Broadway role wasn't guaranteed, I didn't go audition. Can you imagine how different my life would have been if I had gotten the role? Crazy...
But yeah, that was my childhood dream. No longer...still love singing though, it's the only thing that gets me through doing all my chores. And it's the only thing that gets me out of a bad mood...haha.

1. Which song do you sing only when you’re alone? What memory does it bring back?
So recently, my friends Cassie and Cara have been posting questions daily and answering them on their blogs. And I thought it was a really cool idea, to kinda sit and think about some things you normally wouldn't and reflect on different parts of your life. But I didn't wanna use the same questions or be repetitive or anything so I just haven't done it. WELL. I was stumbling this morning (I LOVE BEING HOME AND HAVING NO HOMEWORK) and I found a site titled "62 power questions you should ask to reconnect with yourself." Now I'm not 'disconnected' from myself, but I like a lot of the questions so I was like, "Hey! Okay, I'll use them!"
So here goes!! I probably won't use all the questions, probably won't go in order, and may answer more than one on a given day...but hey! My blog, my rules. :)
1. Which song do you sing only when you’re alone? What memory does it bring back?
Only when I'm alone...I sing "Say Goodbye" by Skillet. The song dominated my life the end of seventh grade, when I moved, and the many months after when I was really having a hard time with missing all of my friends. Listening to the song/singing it brings back a TON of memories...which sometimes results in crying/tearing up, so that's why I sing it alone. It also makes me remember when a close friend at the time sang this song to me.

Things are changing
It seems strange and
I need to figure this out
You've got your life
I got mine
But you're all I cared about
Yesterday we were laughing
Today I'm left here asking
Where has all the time gone now
I'm left alone somehow
Growing up and getting older
I don't want to believe it's over
[Chorus:]
Don't say goodbye
Cause I don't wanna hear those words tonight
Cause maybe it's not the end for you and I
And although we knew
This time would come for me and you
Don't say anything tonight
If you're gonna say goodbye
Do you remember
In December
How we swore we'd never change
Even though you're leaving
That our feelings
Would always stay the same
I wish we could be laughing
Instead I'm standing here asking
Do we have to end this now
Can we make it last somehow
We both know what we've gotta say, not today
Cause I don't wanna leave this way
[Bridge:]
And if it's over
It hurts but I'm giving you my word
I hope that you're always
Happy like we were
Happy like we were
Gosh that song's hard for me to listen to...
So here goes!! I probably won't use all the questions, probably won't go in order, and may answer more than one on a given day...but hey! My blog, my rules. :)

Mad Props
In a conversation I had with someone today, they told me that I should give "mad props" to David. And so I am now officially posting:
Mad props to David.
Not explaining what or why though...he doesn't even know. ;D

The Best Thing
This is the best thing
The best thing that could be happening
And I think you would agree
The best thing is that it's
Happening to you and me
Always knew
I'd find someone
I never dreamt
It'd be like this
You've surpassed
All that I've hoped for (and ever wished)
And I'm tryin'
So hard
With all my heart and mind
To make your life
As good as you've made mine
The best thing that could be happening
And I think you would agree
The best thing is that it's
Happening to you and me
Always knew

Reasons Why Having a Boyfriend in DCI is Awesome
- DCI is awesome, therefore knowing someone in DCI is amazing and having that someone be your boyfriend makes you the proudest person on the planet
- When explaining why your boyfriend won't be home for the summer you get to describe the activity and get more people hooked on DCI
- You get to brag about said boyfriend
- You hear about how said boyfriend brags about you to his friends
- You learn to look forward to certain times of the day, and those times become the best moments of the day (Ex: 1:20ish, 6:15ish, 10:15ish)
- Whenever you have a funny moment or a random thought, you can just pick up your cell phone and send them a ridiculously long text message, knowing they'll love reading about whatever happened during your day
- Knowing that whenever you talk to your boyfriend on the phone he most likely has his shirt off
- DCI is an insane workout, therefore the boyfriend will come home with even more muscles than he left with
- He gets ridiculously attractively tan
- You know he's an extremely committed person
- You relearn that the phrase "never take someone for granted" is one of the best pieces of advice you'll ever get in life
- You think about all the reasons you love him more often, resulting in a very happy and thankful you
- You think about all the inside jokes/fun times/hysterical moments/good times from the past more often
- Knowing he has a strong work ethic
- You get to be amazed at his muscial talent
- Provides another excuse for going to see DCI live
- Experiencing late night conversations on the phone where it doesn't really matter what you're talking about, you're just happy to hear his voice
- Feeling special because you know about the Bluecoats show before anyone else at school (and having fun keeping it a secret)
- Witnessing your boyfriend reflect on himself, his past experiences, and finding positives through it all
- You realize how much you appreciate him and what he does for you
- Intense anticipation for getting to see him perform and knowing he's gonna be phenomenal
- Zoning about time you spent together becomes an extremely enjoyable hobby
- Being insanely proud of him all the time
- PROUD
- PROUD
- PROUD
