Worst UNO game of my life...

In the past, I've prided myself on my mad UNO skillz. When I was little and my dad first taught me to play, I had to use this special circle card holder thing cause my hands were too small to hold the cards. I remember being so proud that first time I got to use just my hands...*sigh*...those were the days. After I was successfully skilled in being able to beat my dad regurlary, I moved onto other targets. First my mom...and then my Chiachi. I have never lost a round of UNO to my Chiachi in my entire life. EVER. There's another nugget of my pride.

Well tonight...I was completely shattered. Murdered one might say.

See---me, dad, Josh, and Sanya started this thing last weekend where we play these huge games of UNO, and then just continue the next time we see each other. Last weekend...naturally, I won. ;D We decided to start over tonight...my UNO soul died.

During one round, my dad got hammered with Draw Fours, one right after the other. Then it was my turn...the next game I was forced to pick up 10 cards, due to an unfortunate happening of many Draw Twos in a row. But that was only the beginning...shortly after, while I was still recovering from this nearly fatal blow, I was hit once again. This time by my sister. With a small grin and a giggle, she unleased a Draw Four. My strength fading, I drew the cards slowly...one...by...one. The next time she played...another Draw Four. I knew I wouldn't be able to handle another hit...dread filled my stomach as I watched her play her last and final Draw Four. That's when I knew I was done. I picked up the cards...already knowing my fate. The next turn...she went out...

She murdered my UNO soul. This night...I shall never forget...

Quotey Quote

Found a quote that has applied to me before...hah:

"Convincing myself I don't need you is easier than admitting to the pain."

The MAN Rules

This made me laugh...haha, and I've been needing a good laugh. It's...interestingly funny. ;D

The Man Rules
At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down. Finally, the guys' side of the story. (I must admit, it's pretty good.) We always hear 'the rules' from the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side. These are our rules!
Please note...these are all numbered '1 ' ON PURPOSE!

1. Men are NOT mind readers.
1. Learn to work the toilet seat..You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.
1. Sunday + GOOD WEATHER = Sports
It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides.Let it be...
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!
1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.
1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments
become Null and void after 7 Days.
1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.
1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one
1. You can either ask us to do something, or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.
1. Captain Cook did NOT need directions and neither do we.
1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit,
not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.
1.. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say 'nothing,' we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.
1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine...really.
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes.
1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!
1. Thank you for reading this.

Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight; But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.

"A New Attitude Toward Happiness"

So I stumbled across this article just now, and some stuff really jumped out at me, especially since 'happy' has been such a foreign thing to me recently.

http://www.therebelution.com/2005/10/www-part-3-new-attitude-towards.html

Parts that stuck out to me:

"...we tend to attach excessive importance to passing pleasures and then react negatively to the fact that they are unsustainable."

"You see, whenever we stake our happiness on a more-or-less ideal set of circumstances we are bound to get hurt because circumstances change. Friendships will change, your body will change, your popularity status will change, your income will fluctuate, and your lifestyle itself will be dramatically transformed by all these other changes."

"And here is my shocking statement: You should never have to be unhappy."

"...define happiness differently than the rest of the world does."

"So start revamping your values list. Pray that God would help you find joy in permanent pleasures."

Early...irregular...whatever you wanna call it, it's ANNOYING

So this was gonna my vent post cause I've just been feeling really odd lately and just all moody and everything. I know WHY (it's early...ugh) but I still need to vent about stuff. But...I've like typed and deleted and retyped so many times trying to explain/get my thoughts out, and it's just not working. I just can't explain the way I feel, I don't even get it. Like DK was asking me what was wrong and I said I dunno cause I dunno why I'm just so UGH about everything. Like I've been just in a MOOD and I've been getting so upset over nothing. Hah...and I'm sitting here typing 'over nothing' and then my mind screams, "It's not over nothing! It's a huge deal! UGH!"

Hah...yeah so. I'm BIZARRE.

I haven't really been happy lately. I've had moments. But I wanna BE happy. Not have happy come and go.

...chicken breast?

So Sanya and I were having the FUNNIEST conversation last night...I was up on her bed and we were just talking and goofing off and having fun. I love when we get to do that, cause it's not often.

After awhile, she pulled out the new cookbook she got and we started looking through the recipes. We got to one of them and it said "Chicken Breast" at the top and she looked at me and said, "Rachel...how do chickens get breasts?"

I almost started CRACKING up. But I kept a straight face and said, "Well you know what happens to girls when they get to 5th grade?" She nodded her head, she's had that talk. I continued and said, "The same thing happens to chickens. When they get to 5th grade, the girl chickens change." She nodded her head like it made sense...but then said "Wait...chickens don't go to school Rachel!" and I looked at her, totally sincere, and said, "Yeah they do...how do you think they learn how to lay eggs?"/"Oh...well, their mommy's teach them."/"Yeah, they're HOMEschooled. So when they reach 5th grade..." She nodded her head...so I'm still wondering if she believed me or if she knows I was joking. ;D

Flab? NO THANK YOU.

I haven't posted in awhile...me bad.

So I thought I'd come back with a BANG and tell a rather hysterical story...

You know in lunches how there are random people that walk around to 'monitor'? Well there's one lady in our lunch...she's not a teacher, just one of those lunch aide thingers. She's uh...well, looks like she's in her late forties (in a bad way) but has died her hair totally black and tries to dress all teenager-ish...except the things she wears a teenager never would. A few weeks back, we were sitting at our lunch table and Jordan started making a barfing noise. I looked over uber concerned, and he was like, "Look..." and there she was. With low LOW pants and a shirt that stopped at her belly button. Our motto for her? Who needs abs when you got FLABS???

YEAH. It's REALLY bad. The next day...another short shirt. The day after that...ANOTHER one. So by then we were all like, "Someone should really tell her..." and Jordan was like, "If she does it another day I'll go tell her" and we all laughed at that and kept eating our yummy food.

Well...the other day...she wore another flab revealing shirt. So Jordan whipped out his agenda, circled the line that says "tops and bottoms must meet" in the student dress code section and went right up to her. I WAS SO SCARED. I didn't know what would happen to him! I mean, we talked about it, but I didn't think he'd actually do it!!! But he did...

We could see him go up to her, point to his agenda, talk to her some more, and then she turned to the security guard standing next to her, and he nodded, and then they kept talking. FOR LIKE FIVE MINUTES. When he came back later he told us what had happened.

He went up to her and said something along the lines of, "Excuse me ma'am? As a representative of our school I think you should uphold the rules that the students have to and provide a good example for them. Well...I've noticed that this is the fourth time that you've worn a shirt that hasn't met your pants, which is against the student dress code". He then told us that she acted really confused and stuff and asked the security guard if her shirt was inappropriate, and that was the nod of the head, and then she just kept making excuses, like if she pulled it down it was fine, and that she had three layers. But Jordan persisted in telling her it just didn't cut it...well, that it was cut too much. ;D

HILARIOUS.

Ever since then, that lady has STARED at our lunch table. EVERY SINGLE DAY. And she's told other lunch aides and other teachers in the cafeteria. After Jordan talked to her, we watched her go around and tell all the teachers, with hand gestures of pointing at her shirt and then DIRECTLY pointing over at our table. Ahhh...good times. ;D
