YOU'RE NOT A GRANDMA DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY

WHEW. Long day! So by request I am FINALLY gonna write that post about prom...took me long enough, right? Haha! Let's see where to start...

Ok, I guess we'll start with MY beginning of prom, though it's not the actual prom. That Saturday I woke up all excited and the day went SO SLOW...I had my hair appointment at around 1 and I was like...C'MON CLOCK. LET'S GET A MOVE ON. YOU'RE NOT A GRANDMA DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. A LITTLE FASTER. Haha I can legit (sorry Jess... ;D) remember thinking that!

So before it was time to go, I snuck up to my mom's room and grabbed my dress to try on while mom was out mowing the lawn...haha, it's so silly that I didn't want her to know I was trying it on. I think it's cause I thought she'd think I was being a silly little girl. :P Ah well...so I tried it on, put my hair two different ways, sent out pictures, got opinions...and then went to get my hair done!!!

I was like such a little girl...like SO giddy and SO excited and SO...SO!!! But I didn't wanna show it...I was like "Yeah I'm chill...I be cool..." ;D

After hair was done I still had like three hours before I had to start getting into the dress and stuff so I collapsed on the couch and probably watched America's Next Top Model for those three hours...hehe. Then I looked at the clock and I'm like...IT IS TIME. (name that quote! ;D)

So I go upstairs, mom helps me get into my dress, fix a little part of my hair, choose my shoes (I wore SLIPPERS! They come back later in this whole big story...wait for it...) and all that big shebang stuff. Dad showed up early (he came over to get pictures) and once he was over I started getting NERVOUS. Like OH MY WORD I'M GOING TO MY FIRST PROM. I dunno...weird to explain. :P So since I started getting nervous my skin started BLOTCHING. And I'm like NO WAY JOSE THIS IS NOT HAPPENING TO ME. Oh I was not happy...but it got better for the pictures which I was SO relieved about!

So my whole family is like waiting for David to get to the house and then dad sees him and I'm starting to rush to the door and dad's like, "No! You gotta make him come to you!" Haha, that made me laugh. So I like "hid" in the side room. I hear David come in and I'm about to head out when mom like signals for me to wait a little longer...so I do and then I make my GRAND ENTRANCE! Haha! It's funny, I wanted to like run up to him and give him this huge hug but then I remembered I was in a DRESS so I gave him a small hug...haha. Then I got my corsage! I had totally forgotten about it!! That was very exciting for me. :]

Sidenote: the corsage is still in the refrigerator...I put it there after post prom cause I wanted to figure out a way to preserve it and mom said to put in the fridge until we figured something out...well it's still there. :P

Next we got our pictures!!! Those were great...lots of smiling, lots of laughing, lots of fun. :]

Then we got into our grand vehicle!!! AKA David's parents' mini-van...haha!

We drove (well technically WE didn't...could you imagine? Two people driving at the same time?? Woah...) over to Stacey's house and got our group pictures and all that and David and I were glancing around and we're like, "Oh yeah, we look so snazzy!" David DEFINITELY had the best tux...like his was James Bond legit (sorry Jess!). Except the collar was like PMSing the entire night...it was so out of control! ;D

Once that was all done (felt like we just stood there smiling at a MULTITUDE of cameras for an HOUR...) we left to go to the place where prom was being held! Mrs. K. dropped us off a little ways away from the entrance cause she's like, "It would look bad if you got dropped off in a mini-van!" Haha...gotta love her. :]

We headed in and it was all like...SURREAL. I'm not sure if that's the right word but it was like...oh my goodness it's prom. Oh my goodness I gotta sign in. Oh my goodness purses are being searched. Oh my goodness the guys are getting patted down. Oh my goodness we're standing in line for promenade. Oh my goodness we're walking down the promenade. Thank goodness I didn't trip!!! Haha YEAH. That's what it was like, just CARAZY.

After that we got our seats...and then the mingling began. Haha...here comes the part about the slippers...so I saw one of my friends sitting a couple tables away. So I jump out and start to SPRINT over to here...well my beautiful sprinting was cut short...I slipped, stepped on the edge of my dress, and went BAM!!! Fell right on the floor...in front of a BUNCH of people...it didn't even really register until a few seconds later...haha, I hit the floor, bounced right up and walked over to my friend. That's when I noticed people were looking at me and pointing and kinda laughing...to be honest I was kinda laughing at myself. :D I got a well-deserved bruise from that...trust me...haha.

David and I sorta just kept to ourselves, which was nice cause we just got to sit close together and talk and just enjoy being with each other.

Then came the food! Oh my word I was so scared to stand up and walk around...so I like CLUNG to David!!! Haha, once we got to "safety" (the carpeted area) I still was holding his arm...though I really didn't HAVE to... ;D

The food was aight. Just aight...it was good, but not great. David and I both went up to this mini-bar thing and got Shirley Temples and those were a bit odd too...ah well. Food wasn't the important part of the night.

THEN...the dancing started!!! Well I dunno if you could technically call it dancing...do they teach grinding and humping and animal behavior in dance classes? DON'T THINK SO!!!

At first David and I were just on the outside of the big dance partay just kinda chilling...but then we went in more towards Amy and Trolley and all those other people and it was SO much fun!! Haha! We were making fun of everyone SO MUCH!!! Like...everyone was just doing the grind swaying...FOR HOURS. So David and I had fun...David would like swing his hip into Trolley's and mess that up and then we pretended like we were "tango-ing" so we stuck out our hands and like "punched" other people we knew and then were like, "Oops! Sorry!" Oh it was so great...haha. We kept saying that we were the ones who had the most fun on the dance floor that night...and we didn't have to have sex to have the best time!!!! ;D

We just danced...like crazy dancing, striking poses in the middle of songs where there's breaks, doing the Macarena to every single song (IT WORKS SERIOUSLY...like next Homecoming or prom wait and feel the beat and the Macarena works with everything!), and just being goofy. When those slow songs came on though...MMM. I grabbed my man then. :] Haha, in like the third slow song we were kissing and then David looks over and Matt from youth group was giving him the thumbs up, it was so funny!!! Yeah...so that was good.

I think we took like three breaks during four hours there or something? Just kinda got away from the center of the animal frenzy of 'dancing' and sat and got a drink and talked and wiped sweat off of our brows...it was HOT...I blame David... ;D

When it was over we headed outside and my mom picked us up. We drove (LOOK WE'RE DRIVING AGAIN...except not...) back to my house, where we both changed into shorts and our Cadets T-shirts for post-prom. We were EXHAUSTED. Like we changed, slept (more or less... ;D) for twenty minutes, and then headed out to the high school for five hours of post prom.

Neither of us really knew what to expect of post prom...I knew I wasn't that hopeful about it but it blew us both away!! It was great!!! There was SO much work put into it and decorations and the activites and it was just...amazing. We did this thing called Rapid Fire first which was SO great! It was like two people are tied to opposite ends of bungee cords and you're both trying to run at the same time but you're connected so one person goes forward and the other is pulled back. Well I NEVER ONCE WON...I was SO bad at it! I just flopped all over...haha.

The other thing we really enjoyed was this blow up obstacle course, like same material as would be to make a bounce house. That was really fun cause you just basically THREW yourself through everything and tumbled down this huge hill at the end. Good stuff. :]

So we did that for awhile, then wandered upstairs, ate yummy food, got 20 free raffle tickets and put them in assorted buckets for prizes, and then went and played ping pong. It was...the CRAZIEST ping pong game of my life!!! Like...we didn't play by the rules at all, we just went INSANE and it ended up being like the funniest thing in the world...oh mylanta. ;D

We played this racecar game, which cool but it was only one person so we only did that once.

THERE WAS A PINBALL MACHINE. And all this stuff was free, so we just walked up to the pinball machine, pulled the trigger thing, and played! I love pinball. :]

Let's see what else did we do...we got pictures in a photobooth, we played Skeeball, we watched this "Big Heads" thing which was funny, climbed an inflatable rock wall (I was so determined to win that...but David beat me! But it's ok...I'll take muscles over me winning ;D), and then fell alseep on cafeteria tables. The night...or wait, it was morning by then, was really great. We had so much fun together, running around and doing stuff, and we had a bunch of really good talks too. So yeah...I loved it. :]

But then we got tired when there was about an hour and a half left...so that was the whole falling alseep on the cafeteria table thing. :P The rest of the morning's a blur for me...I was struggling to stay awake while they were calling winners for the raffle tickets...but next thing I know, I hear my name and David's nudging me and I'm like...what did I win?? So I go up and a get a digital camera! Free digital camera! It was GREAT! And then David won fifty bucks! How cool is that? Haha, that $50 paid for yummy food at Olive Garden later. :D

Yeah...that was prom and post prom. SO many memories...amazing first prom...that whole experience is something I'll never forget. It was BEYAWESOME to spend so much time with David and get to do so much stuff together...I love that about us (warning: little bragging section)...how we can do almost ANYTHING together, and it's the best thing in the world, cause we're doing it together and it's just so much fun. :] Yaaaaay....David!!!

Speaking of David...IT'S OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!!! So I guess technically you can just say it's our anniversary? It's so exciting!!! I'm so proud of us...it's been a tough and bumpy and crazy but AMAZING year...I love you David!!!

Sidenote: could this post get any LONGER? Wow Rachel...haha, wonder how many of you read the ENTIRE THING. WORD FOR WORD. I know I didn't...haha, that's funny cause I wrote it...HAHA! Oh goodness I'm getting tired...bet you could tell. :D

Sidenote of a sidenote: current song lyric stuck in my head that's making me laugh---"Hump de bump doop bodu Bump de hump doop bap Hump de bump doop bodu"...that's right! ;D

Let's see...I'm thinking of an awesome way to end this awesome post...hmm...well if I don't come up with something I'll just keep texting until it gets to an awesome point but that could take awhile and this post is already long enough so you'll know I think I should be just stopping this run on sentence right now and not continue it any further and just have an awesome ending.

AWESOME.

Yaaaay...sports!

FINISHED MY BIOME POWERPOINT WOOT WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh it is SUCH a relief...TECHNICALLY I don't have to do any more homework over the weekend. Though I really should re-edit my research paper and do more stuff for AP Human...curse you end of the year projects!!!

Sooo...I have BIG NEWS! Yesterday I saw my first ever baseball game!!! Like literally...FIRST. I had never seen one on TV or gone to one or ANYTHING. So uh yeah...yesterday was kind of a big deal. ;D Cara coached me through a lot of stuff...things like averages and how many balls until a walk (am I saying that right?) and how I'm not allowed to feel bad for the other team...haha! It was so funny! We got to our seats a little after the game started, and as soon as we sit down I look out over the game and I see the ball flying into right field and the guy there reached for it, missed...tried again, missed and fell down...AND CARA STARTED CLAPPING AND CHEERING. I was like WHAT?!??! I felt so bad for the guy!! It took me until like the fourth inning (I learned there are nine innings!) to stop feeling bad for the other team or clapping when they had a good play.

It was SUCH a fun afternoon! Got my time with my girl Cara, went to my first baseball game (AND ATE A HOT DOG!), and saw lightning incredibly up close. The only bad side...well there's two. First, we only went cause the band was invited to play "Take Me out to the Ball Game"...we were the ONLY HIGH SCHOOLERS. PLAYING WITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL KIDS. How silly...and the second thing is that the game ended in the sixth inning cause the storm got really bad.

Pictures from yesterday!!

It was a little windy on the bus... ;D

Oh man...those Bb flat scales need so much concentration...HAH.
...yeah. ;D

David J. K."

Oh yeah. We're all in a goofy mood. ;D

Ello blog!

Hmm...ok sidenote. Haha! Beginning of my post and I have a sidenote: I titled this post "Ello blog!" cause I haven't posted in awhile and I figured I'd say hi to my blog so I don't hurt its feelings. Haha...ok so here's the sidenote: how would you say "blog" in a British accent? Like...you know cause "ello" is the whole British thing but how would you say "blog"? Would it come out as blerg or blag or blooog or blurgh or or or or or or....what would it be? I'm insanely curious now...

Uh...now I forget what I was actually gonna post about! Errrmmm...so yeah.

Let's just go with...my day? Sure ok. My day was not fun. I did not enjoy it. I was POOPED (haha...that's funny...EWIC!!!) from the trip and when I woke up this morning it was like I was in slow motion...it was so WEIRD. And my bus driver was insanely late and I had a headache from being tired and I REALLY didn't wanna be in school and it was just BLEGH. I think my day got better in science class when I started doing work and I actually felt like there was a reason I was in school...or maybe it was just cause I was starting to wake up, haha.

I HAVE SOMETHING TO REPORT. I ACTUALLY STAYED AWAKE IN DRIVER'S ED. AND THE LIGHTS WERE OFF. Just thought I'd share my proud moment of the day. :D

So I've pretty much been doing homework ever since I got home...I'm not minding though. How weird is that? It's not hard work, just takes awhile. Which is ok, cause I really don't have anything else to do.

EXCEPT WATCH GLEE. WHICH IS ON TONIGHT. Haha...I feel like I'm interrupting myself with the caps button. ;D

Umm...yeah. I would post more about that jawn that I gotta post about but it's time to go do things that tickle my tummy...like EATING!

Williamsburg!!!

I have concluded that I am a klutz at all times of the day...

Woke up to my alarm. Fell off my bunk bed trying to get down cause I was tangled in the blankets. Stubbed my toe on my bookshelf. Cut myself while shaving. Dropped a heavy shampoo bottle on my foot and STARTED BLEEDING.

...really?? Wow...I better not make a habit of this waking up uber early thing, I'd be scared to see what else would happen. :P

So in case you don't know the reason for my early morning post...WILLIAMSBURG!!! It's where the music department is going this year for our trip and it's gonna be AWESOME.

Time to go pack my toiletries! ...have you ever noticed how WEIRD that word is? Toiletries? Hmm...ponder that this morning in homeroom Cara. ;D

...hey God?

I love my mommy SO much...it hurts to see her like this...to see that she has to deal with this...that she misses my dad so insanely much, but there's nothing that can be done to change the situation. Holding her makes me feel better cause I feel like I'm helping her...but it makes her feel guilty because she shouldn't be the one falling apart on me...hey God? My family needs help down here...

If I know what love is, it is because of you...

Hello my dear blog...it's been awhile hasn't it?

Well I return to you with an arm full of stories, a stomach full of cramps, and a face streaked with tears. Not only is it that time of the month, it's that time of the year...the time that I've both been looking foward to and dreading. He's gone. David's gone. He left this morning to go to Johnstown for Cadets. And I won't see him again until graduation, more than a month away. Even then it'll only be a few hours. After that he leaves...gone for the entire summer.

Goodness...I dunno how I'll survive if THIS is the state I'm in right now!

I have cramps. I have a sore throat. The headache's coming. I have the tears. And I have one of those stinkin' pimples that looks horrible and on top of that it hurts. Lovely.

Last night when I came home my mom asked how I was, seeing as I had just spent my last day with him and all that...I told her I was doing ok, reality hadn't really hit yet. Well my friends, it's hit.

It was just all of a sudden. I got home, called David, and then planned to go blog some about the list of things that I've been wanting to blog about. After I got off the phone, I went downstairs, saw the sister on the computer, she was doing work, so I decided to go back upstairs, crash on mom's bed and watch some good old junk TV. Well then I got stuck. Finished a movie, started another one, and next thing I knew the phone was ringing. So I rushed downstairs and saw mom and she commented on how I didn't look too good and she kissed my forehead and then hugged me...and then I fell apart. I don't know how or what started it but I just lost it and started sobbing into her shoulder...it was just like BAM. REALITY. I was up in my little TV world where nothing was real...where I didn't have to face anything or think about anything.

I think that's all my blogging for now...I just wanna go lie down...

I learned that goodbyes will always hurt, pictures never replace having been there, memories will bring good or bad tears, and words can never replace those feelings.
