I L O V E shopping! I am such a girl. ;D
I did some of my chores this morning, started laundry, cleaned a bit (we have family friends coming over tomorrow after church), and then went shopping with my mom!
I got three new pairs of jeans---which is funny, cause we're LEAVING the jeans season. Oh well. Let's hope I don't grow over the summer...HAH!
Then I got this purple shirt with a geometric design on it that I LOVE. Plus some other cool T-shirts. I love Rue21! I hadn't been there before, but they had SUCH great sales! My mom found a shirt too, I bought it for her cause it just looked so good. She's wearing it on her date right now. :]
Most of my money is gone now, but it's ok. It only means that I have to make sure not to go over my text limit this month. I've already used a lot... :P
So let's see, what's been going on...I had a very interesting conversation with DK last night. We had a really great talk about relationships and stuff, he even some of the questions I had come up with at youth group. It was really cool, guys don't let you in their head that often:
Me: Do guys date just because it's what everyone else is doing and they don't want to miss out on the "experience", or do they actually want to get to know the girl?
DK: Yes and no
DK: Depends on the guy
Me: Well that one was easy. ;)
Me: What do you expect in a dating relationship from a girl? What do you want to get out of the relationship?
DK: Me personally? I'm actually not completely sure. I guess I want to come out of it with a good friendship. I want my girlfriend to be a source of happiness for me.
DK: And vice-versa
Me: What are your general thoughts on dating and when it should be appropriate for guys and girls to start to seriously date?
DK: It's appropriate when both understand what to expect. They're not gonna get married and have kids. It's gonna end eventually so they have to be mature enough to not do anything stupid. Age isn't really much of an object. I mean obviously it's weird/superficial for anyone under high school age. People who go through multiple divorces haven't reached the level of maturity necessary in a relationship.
Me: What attracts you to a girl?
DK: There's a provocative question :P
Me: Oh, sorry.
DK: don't worry, i'm answering it
DK: hmm... mostly the way she acts around people. I like girls that are friendly and don't gossip. Girls who curse are unnatractive. I don't like girls who obsess over me. I don't care much for physical attractiveness, at least on the surface. She has to care about her appearance without obsessing over it.
Me: How do you know if you want a certain girl to be just a friend or if you want her to be your girlfriend? What makes you start to like a girl?
DK: The knowledge that a relationship could be successful
Me: How do you want a girl to treat you?
DK: In general?
Me: I guess.
DK: Respect. Guys like to be treated like men, even if they don't always act very mature. I can't stand it when girls are all crazy about me when I haven't even done anything. I like to feel like I've earned a girl's esteem.
Me: Ok, that's all. :)
Then we got talking about some stuff with religion. I shared something that bothered me (I'll post about it later, but I'm babysitting and I have to make dinner soon), and then we got into another discussion about church and hell. It was...uh, interesting. Kinda strange though. He kept jumping around. Like he couldn't stay focused on one topic. And then if I asked a question I wouldn't always get a direct answer. He also contradicted himself a lot. Very difficult to understand...not sure what to think about it...
Me: In your understanding, what does one need to get into Heaven?
DK: To have accepted the opportunity for Christ
Me: Really?
DK: To believe in Christ
Me: You're getting closer
DK: Yes?
Me: What does Paul tell the Philippian jailer?
Me: Acts 16
DK:
Believe in the Lord Jesus
Me: and you shall be saved
Me: So it has nothing to do with the fact that we have heard preaching.
Me: It is accepting the gift that God has provided.
DK: Who has heard Jesus?
Me: I have!
DK: Because you live in America in a Christian family
Me: Romans 1 talks about God being revealed in nature.
Me: And therefore no one is without excuse.
That's just a little snippet of it. It went on for about 2 hours or so. I am MAJORLY confused by some of the stuff he said, it just doesn't make sense. Or one part will make sense but then later he'll go and contradict himself. Dunno what to think.
I'm off to make raviolis!!
